The rankings are published by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group under the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas or CSIC) and housed in the Centro de Ciencias Humanas y Sociales. The CSIC, Spain’s largest public research institution, is considered the third largest of its kind in Europe. It is part of the Ministry of Education and actively supports other countries in advancing scientific research.
