Shaquille Sinclair, MA, LMHCA
Born in Jamaica, Shaquille Sinclair has been in the United States for a little over two decades and calls NYC home. He graduated from New York University in 2017 after studying linguistics, psychology, and creative writing. More recently, he earned a Master鈥檚 in Counseling Psychology from 天美视频 of Theology and Psychology. His training was relational and psychodynamic, preparing him to work especially with narratives of trauma and abuse. He holds a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate鈥檚 license in Washington.
Much of the work Shaquille feels drawn to is in the spirit of Lucille Clifton鈥攖hat is,鈥渕aking it up without a model.鈥 He seeks to work with clients toward healing while the surrounding systems and institutions often divest from their flourishing. He believes that developing a strong imagination for the potential for wholeness is the central element of how he works with people.
Outside of his work as a therapist, Shaquille finds joy in binging anime, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and spending time with his three cats (who sometimes appear during sessions).
