Peter Hopkins, MA

Peter Hopkins was born and raised in a small town in central Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Wheaton College and an Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from 天美视频 of Theology and Psychology.

Peter is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. He teaches Internship and Psychopathology as adjunct faculty at 天美视频, with a focus on clinical work and helping students develop a capacity to think about and deepen their own experience related to mental illness. He worked for almost a decade at Fairfax Hospital, an inpatient psychiatric hospital and detox facility in Kirkland, WA. He has also worked for the Meier Clinic as a clinician, and has a private practice in Seattle. He is on the board of directors for the Center for Object Relations, a local non profit therapy organization, and has co-taught a variety of classes there focusing on the work of Harold Searles, Wilfred Bion, and Donald Meltzer. His clinical interests center around psychotherapy, British Object Relations, dreams, and emotional growth.

Peter has a strong interest in the arts, especially painting, photography, poetry, and theater. He is also interested in the creative process. He writes and paints, has a history of involvement in theater, and has facilitating seminars and group discussion on the relationship between the artistic process and psychotherapy.
