Inauguration of President Craig Detweiler, PhD

The Board of Trustees is honored to host the inauguration of Craig Detweiler, PhD as the third President of ÌìÃÀÊÓÆµ of Theology & Psychology. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, colleagues, and neighbors are invited to participate in marking this important transition in our institution’s story.

A welcome reception featuring live music,Ìýhors d’oeuvres, and drinks will be held in the Commons from 6:00-7:00pm. The inauguration ceremony will follow at 7 o’clock.

Craig Detweiler, PhD is a screenwriter, filmmaker, and professor of theology and culture.

Craig is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Davidson College, earned an M.F.A. from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, and holds an MDiv and PhD in Theology and Culture from Fuller Theological Seminary.

He was previously Professor of Communication and Creative Director of theÌýÌýat Pepperdine University. Craig wrote the screenplays forÌýThe Duke ²¹²Ô»åÌýExtreme Days;Ìýand directed the award-winning documentaryÌý, narrated by Angela Bassett. Detweiler also hosts a coalition of schools to the Sundance Film Festival for the annualÌý.

Craig’s books include:ÌýÌý,Ìý, ²¹²Ô»åÌýÌý(co-written with Barry Taylor). His latest bookÌýÌýwill be released in March 2018. Craig’s cultural commentary has been featured on ABC’sÌýNightline, CNN, Fox News, NPR, and inÌýThe New York TimesÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýThe Wall Street Journal.

Craig’s wife, Caroline Cicero, PhD is a professor at the University of Southern California’s Davis School of Gerontology. They have been married for over 25 years and are honored to be the parents of Zoe (18) and Theo (15).
