UP’s Linggo ng Unibersidad culminated with the “Gawad Pangulo: Pagkilala sa Karangalan at Kahusayan sa Paglilingkod para sa Bayan” on June 20 at Atencio-Libunao Hall, UP Diliman.

The awards ceremony honored this year’s batch of exemplary students, staff, faculty, units, and alumni from across the UP System for their outstanding contributions in advancing the university’s mandate as a leader in public service and academic excellence.

UP President Angelo Jimenez, Vice President for Academic Affairs Leo Cubillan, Vice President for Administration Augustus Resurreccion, and Vice President for Public Affairs Marian Coquia-Regidor, led the awarding of trophies. Created by UP College of Fine Arts Professor Toym Imao, the trophy symbolizes the Linggo ng Unibersidad 2025 theme “Ani at Alay: Paglilingkod at Pasidungog sa Bayan.”

“The Gawad Pangulo recognizes the extraordinary work of UP students, alumni, faculty, staff, and units who went beyond the call of duty to uplift lives, empower communities, and bring meaningful change to the country,” Jimenez emphasized. He told the awardees, “sa bawat araw na kayo’y masigasig na naglingkod, kayo’y nagtanim ng binhi na ngayo’y namumunga ng dangal, husay, at pag-asa—pag-asa para sa bayan, at para sa ating kinabukasan.”
