Four Iskolar ng Bayan were recently recognized by Forbes in its prestigious ‘30 Under 30 Asia’ list for 2025.

Ysabel Chua (UP Diliman), Renee Francesca ‘Renren’ Galeno (UP Diliman), Anna Beatriz Suavengco (UP Los Baños), and Jasper Ruby Vijar (UP Visayas) joined movers from business, technology, the arts, and other industries who were cited for their outstanding achievements this year.

Published annually since 2011, the Forbes “30 Under 30” list honors 30 notable individuals under age 30 per category. Nominees are evaluated by Forbes and a panel of independent experts based on social and industry impact, product-market fit, inventiveness, and potential.

Chua is part of Singapore-based venture capital firm, Forge Ventures, which supports startups across Southeast Asia. Chua was its first ever employee, and she has since shepherded the growth of its portfolio to 16 companies. Among the investments she oversaw were for Indonesian supply chain startup Baskit and for Singapore-based startup Prefer.

Galeno is a comic book artist and illustrator based in Davao City. She received a National Book Award in 2024 for her graphic novel Sa Wala and was a Pulitzer Finalist for Best Illustrated Reporting and Commentary for her Washington Post-published Searching for Maura.

Vijar, a physician, is committed to creating healthier communities. He co-founded the NGO Team Dugong Bughaw in 2015, which aims to mainstream adolescent and sexual health among Ilonggo-speaking young people. Through the organization, he has provided reproductive health education, condoms and HIV testing to communities in Aklan, Capiz and Iloilo.

Suavengco is a science communicator and entrepreneur focused on sustainability. She created Urban Farmer TV, an educational technology platform that teaches people how to grow hydroponic vegetables at home. Her videos have gained a wide following on platforms such as TikTok and YouTube, where she reportedly has around 260,000 combined followers.
